We’re passionate about developing and supporting people at eyebright. Since inception we’ve been working closely with the Scottish government apprenticeship scheme to train and develop local people. Within a Modern Apprenticeship, you can learn whilst you work and gain a SQA qualification once you’ve completed your training.
Anyone aged 16 – 24 years old can apply for a Modern Apprenticeship. If you would like to build a career and work towards a qualification whilst you earn a salary, then we could help you.

Our apprentices receive a competitive salary of £17,500 (OTE £19,250) and on completion of the apprenticeship, their salary immediately increases to £20,000 (OTE £22,000).

We have a 100% pass rate with 16 successfully completed apprenticeships. Everyone to date that’s completed an apprenticeship has been offered a full time, permanent contract at eyebright.

When I started my apprenticeship with eyebright back in 2015, I was 19 years old. It was time for me to start my career and I thought going down the apprenticeship route would be the best idea, as I could gain a qualification whilst working.
There was a lot of support on hand from both eyebright and the training provider Microcom Training, which meant I was able to gain my SVQ qualification in Business and Administration within just 5 months.
From then, further training opportunities became available to me which included subsequent SVQ qualifications in Digital Marketing and Management. The skills, knowledge and confidence I gained from all 3 of these apprenticeship courses allowed me to progress within eyebright into an Operations Manager role, managing a team of people.
Looking back now, I am so grateful to have had these opportunities available to me and would highly recommend an apprenticeship to anyone looking to get on their career path!
I began working at eyebright in 2020 as a Contract Admin apprentice, working to complete a SVQ in Business & Administration. I was really ambitious to learn whilst working in an office environment. As I had just left school, I was hoping that my apprenticeship would be the next step for me as I was still keen to continue to study and learn.
I worked hard with the help of the eyebright team and completed my apprenticeship in 4 months. Since completing this, eyebright has pushed and motivated my career by ensuring there was a Personal Development Plan in place, guaranteeing I’m working towards the next step. Following on from this, I grew more confident in the industry and gradually worked my way up to Senior Contract Admin role. I am now in the process of completing my second apprenticeship – Management SVQ, to ensure I have all the necessary skills and knowledge to phase into a new role. I am excited to learn more whilst gaining more qualifications!
